Markos Kampanis created a work every day from May 2012 to May 2013. The only condition was the dimension (20×20 and 20×25 cm) and the obligation to complete one work every day. There is no thematic, technical or stylistic limitation. The centrifugal forces and the great variety that characterizes his work in general, were the impetus for the project in order to explore in practice the thread that connects aesthetic approaches that seem even contradictory to each other. He wanted to put into practice the famous saying attributed to the ancient painter Apelles “Not a day without a line”, an approach that has always characterized his painting practice. In essence, it is the painter’s personal visual odyssey condensed over the course of a year. The series was exhibited for the first time in 2013 at the Athens Art Gallery.
Works on wood, paper or cloth with acrylic, monotype, pencil, charcoal or pastel, mural painting with casein, silicate paint or fresco on mortar, photography and digital printing.
