This website is dedicated to the digital exhibitions organized by the National Library of Greece, showcasing material from its own collections.
The mission of the NLG is to perpetually trace, collect, organise, document, preserve and safeguard scientific and cultural documents, created in Greece or internationally and related to Hellenism in its diachronic evolution and perception by other cultures. Τhe NLG ensures open and equal access to these documents, driven by freedom of knowledge, information and research.
Τherefore, the NLG exhibitions will also be digitally documented, in order to be accessed by those who can not visit them in person; our intention is to promote new ways of interaction with the public which contribute to the diffusion of cultural creation globally, on the web. We believe that in this way, our visitors, whether in physical or digital spaces, will be able to know and immerse in our collections discovering new ways they can use our National Library, whether for research, educational or recreational purposes.
